The second day of Dayton starts this afternoon.

NCAA Basketball: Big West Conference Tournament-UC Davis vs UC Irvine Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

Don’t ever let anyone tell you the First Four isn’t worth watching. Last night, we saw two great games, with No. 16 Mount St. Mary’s holding on over No. 16 New Orleans, 67-66, and No. 11 Kansas State taking down No. 11 Wake Forest, 95-88.

And it all continues tonight. We have the No. 16 showdown between North Carolina Central and UC Davis, and the No. 11 matchup between USC and Providence.

North Carolina Central hails out of Durham and the MEAC. They are a recent entry into D-I sports, and have been to the NCAA Tournament once before. This is the UC Davis Aggies first foray into the NCAA Tournament since moving to the D-I level in 2004.

On the late night matchup, USC started off the season read hot, going 14-0. They finished the season a pretty middling 10-10. The start was just enough to get them into the tournament, ever so barely. Providence was the exact opposite. They finished the season with a nice six game Big East win streak, but promptly fell to Creighton in the first round of their conference tournament.

Here are the times for the two games tonight. Both games are on TruTV and can be viewed online at
