March Madness gets underway (sort of).

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-First Four Practice Brain Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The first-ish day of the 2017 NCAA Tournament gets underway in just a few hours with two of the four play-in games.

First up, it is a battle of No. 16 seeds between Mount St. Mary’s and New Orleans. After that, it is a play-in game between No. 11 Wake Forest and No. 11 Kansas State.

Mount St. Mary’s is making an appearance in the big dance for the first time in three years after winning the Northeast Conference. It is quite the turnaround for the squad, who spends much of the non-conference schedule getting trashed by big name schools. Mount St. Mary’s opened up with their 11 of their first 12 games on the road, going 1-11, and losing to the likes of West Virginia, Iowa State, Minnesota, UT Arlington, Michigan and Arkansas.

New Orleans is making their triumphant return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1996 after winning the Southland Conference.

Here is the schedule for both games today, which are both on TruTV and streaming online at NCAA.com.

  • No. 16 Mount St. Mary’s vs. No. 16 New Orleans, 3:40 pm PT
  • No. 11 Wake Forest vs. No. 11 Kansas State, 6:10 pm PT
