Creighton Goes Down, But Villanova Looms

Free Ira Brown Celebrates the Win and Looks Ahead to Tuesday’s Showdown in the Garden

NCAA Basketball: Creighton at Gonzaga
Zags Celebrate Finding a Great Barber

After a second half as dominant as the one Gonzaga had against Creighton, we just couldn’t wait until Monday. That performance got us so excited, the Free Ira Brown crew got going early, and finished…uh…before our normal finishing time.

And so the latest episode of Free Ira Brown is here, in which our heroes cover the crushing of Creighton in the Kennel. No Corey Kispert? No problem. No 3-pointers from Perkins? Please. That’s why we have a brilliant French forward and a freshman flame-thrower dropping 21 points in the second half. The Blue Jays were game, but Tillie and Norvell were too good. We break it all down.

Those stories, plus we check in with the Lady Bulldogs and their win over Eastern Washington, we spare a word for the casually dominant win over Incarnate Word and Chris sneaks in a few questions.

We also take a look ahead at the jewel of Gonzaga’s non-conference schedule, the matchup with Villanova Tuesday in Madison Square Garden. What would a win for us look like? On what creature (creatures?) can we report? Will Kispert play?

Plus, the rivalry continues…hahahahaha, rivalry, yeah, sure…with Washington as Gonzaga heads to Seattle on Sunday. Will UW have any fans there? What percentage of Gonzaga fans will be in the arena, despite the $140 tickets?

And finally, you young whippersnappers and your fancy video games know nothing of the beauty and majesty of how sports video games used to be. And so we give you the Top 3 sports video games of all time. You can have your new-age Maddens and all their fancy graphics. This is a list for true connoisseurs.

All this and more on the latest episode of Free Ira Brown, THE Gonzaga Hoops Podcast. Do join in the revelry, won’t you?
