After the best offensive performance of the season in a road win over Pacific, the Zags will stay in California to face Santa Clara. The Broncos lost a 56-55 heart-breaker at home to Pepperdine to start off league play. Kyla Martin led all scorers with 17 points, but missed the game-winner at the buzzer. The Broncos shot just 33% from the field, while committing 20 turnovers in the game. This was the team’s fourth loss by five or less points.

This could very well be the worst offensive team not only in the WCC, but in the country. The Broncos average just 55 ppg, shoot under 30 % from deep, and have just one person average double figure scoring in Ashlyn Herlihy (10.3 ppg). The reason for this has been the absence of Emily Wolph, who hasn’t played but one game this season, scoring 27 points in that contest.

For the Zags, the goal is simple to get a double-digit lead in this one, as Santa Clara is not capable of playing from behind. As long as Gonzaga gets to 60 points first, they’ll get the road sweep without too much problems.
