The Zags have won 21 straight West Coast Conference openers, and Mark Few has never lost an opener since becoming the head coach. Gonzaga has also won 12 of the past 13 meetings against Pacific. The Tigers lone win came in 1976.
Last time around, the score against Pacific simulated a blowout, but that wasn’t quite the case. Gonzaga won 82-50 in the WCC Tournament, but only led by two points in half before outscoring Pacific by 30 points in the second half.
At home, even without the students, hopefully things go a bit different. The Tigers have only won two of their six games on the road this year. Can’t think of a worst place to try and right that ship than Spokane.
