College basketball rankings: Gonzaga rises to No. 15 in latest AP poll

There was quite the shake up this week in the polls.

NCAA Basketball: Gonzaga at Ohio State Jaime Valdez-USA TODAY Sports

The Gonzaga Bulldogs rose to No. 15 in the latest AP Poll after a sound showing at the PK80 Invitational, where the Zags went 2-1.

The voters didn’t punish Gonzaga at all for their thrilling double-overtime loss against Florida. The Gators moved up to No. 6 after nearly knocking off the Duke Blue Devils in on Sunday.

The big story of the most recent poll, however, is the absence of the Arizona Wildcats. Arizona just happened to be the No. 2 team in the country last week, but dropped three consecutive games and has vanished completely to “receiving votes.” In its place, Duke has secured all first place votes. The Blue Devils were hardly dominant in the PK80 Invitational, having to come from behind in games against Texas and Florida, and not beating Portland State as handily as they should have.

Oh yeah, and let us not forget: Saint Mary’s is no longer ranked. All is good in the world.

Here is the full top 25 ranking.
