It isn’t often that the Zags have a non-conference opponent matchup where the opposing team holds the advantage in the all-time record. Such is the case with the Utah State Aggies, who come to Spokane on Saturday to take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs.
This will be the sixth meeting all time between the two schools, and Utah State has won the previous four. Now granted, the last time Gonzaga and Utah State met was back in 1970, so things are a bit different now.
For example, Gonzaga is riding a streak of 58 consecutive opponents held under 50 percent shooting. That can get stretched out even further to 79 of their past 80 opponents (expletive deleted you Saint Mary’s for the anomaly in the streak).
This begins a stretch of five games on the road (or in neutral territory) for Utah State over the next 13 days.
