Nigel Williams-Goss was named the WCC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, Jan. 9.

Williams-Goss had the best game of his career against the San Francisco Dons to help keep the No. 5 Gonzaga Bulldogs undefeated. He finished with 36 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.

Outside of being the first Gonzaga double-double of the season, Williams-Goss also became the fifth player in the last 20 years to register at least 35 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, all while shooting 80 percent or better from the floor.

It was a week of good performances Williams-Goss beat out in the conference. Jock Landale from Saint Mary’s averaged 23.5 points, 10 rebounds, and 3.5 assists last week. Eric Mika dropped 28 points against Saint Mary’s on Jan. 5, and Chris Reyes from Pepperdine put up two 20 point games.

Williams-Goss joins Mika as the only two players in the conference to win the award twice this season.
