Don’t know if you’ve heard the news from the last couple days. It did fly a bit under the radar, after all. But after much deliberation, much speculation, much consideration, Stranger Things was named the Best Ensemble in a Drama Series at Sunday’s SAG Awards. A big surprise for a group of underdogs from a non-major network.
Wait…a strong ensemble group from a non-traditional area of power, upsetting major competition. Why does that sound familiar? Where have I…That’s right, Orange is the New Black won for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series earlier in the evening!
Oh yeah, Gonzaga is also the nation’s #1 men’s basketball team. Knew that sounded familiar.
That’s right, dear FIBbers, the top team in America, in both polls, is none other than your Gonzaga Bulldogs, and the Free Ira Brown crew has it all covered. In our latest episode, our heroes take in the news and take down the internet trolls. Haven’t played anyone? Dumb. Wouldn’t make the NCAA Tournament in a “real” conference? Ignorant. Are we a bunch of flat-track bullies, not worthy of the #1 ranking? Buffoons.
Those stories, plus we check in with the GU women, glance back on a weekend of whomping wins and take a long look ahead at the trip to Marriott and the always friendly, kind and gentlemanly BYU Cougars (and their even more respectful fans).
And finally, after Adam continues to get left behind in the betting wars, we finish the pod with a the cheapest, most low-down and dirty Top 3 in recent memory.
All that and more on the latest episode of Free Ira Brown, THE Gonzaga Hoops Podcast. Do give it a listen. You don’t wanna be number 2, do you?
