Gonzaga is hitting the recruiting trail hard as of late. Josh Gershon with Scout.com reported that the Zags have extended an offer to point guard Brandon Williams out of Crespi High School in California.

The 6’'1 Williams is one of the top guards in the nation. He is a five-star point guard rated No. 21 in 247 Sports National Composite, and the competition for the young star will be rather steep.
Williams has already taken multiple unofficial visits to Arizona, and the Wildcats have been hot on his trail, doling out an offer way back in May. He has also received offers from California, Connecticut, Kansas, UCLA, UNLV, USC and Virginia, among others. As of now, Gonzaga is the 13th school to make an offer for his services.
But such is the game that Gonzaga finds itself in now. We’ve talked in length about how the Gonzaga recruiting game has taken a step up in recent years, and the Zags focus seems to be less about finding diamonds in the rough and finding diamonds that just need a bit of polish. Those latter diamonds tend to have a lot more suitors and competition, so it will be interesting to see if Gonzaga can hang with the big boys of recruiting.
