Advocare Invitational Tournament bracket set per reports

Zags don’t exactly draw the top opponent in first game.

It is pretty much now a Thanksgiving tradition to skip football (or at least set up another television) and watch the Gonzaga Bulldogs play in some random non-conference tournament somewhere in the nation.

This year, that tournament is the excitedly named Advocare International, and the stage is now set, thanks to Andy Katz with ESPN.

Unfortunately, for the Zags, they drew one of the two clunker teams in the tournament in the first round. Quinnipiac finished last season ranked No. 297 by Ken Pomeroy last season. They might not be as bad this upcoming season, but there isn’t anything to suggest they will be much better.

Get past that game, and there are still a couple of tantalizing matchups on the docket. Either Seton Hall or Florida is a resume booster, and Iowa State is a preseason top 25 team by most major outlets. If the Zags are able to win this tournament, they will pad the resume with two quality wins.

Still, it is a slight disappointment to draw Quinnipiac, because that is one less game against a quality opponent, but such is the luck of the draw.
