A Few Good Men, a team featuring mainly Gonzaga alums, qualified for the $2 million winner-take-all tournament simply titled, The Basketball Tournament.
The team features Blake Stepp, Jeremy Pargo, Mike Hart, Micah Downs, Dan Dickau, Austin Daye, Casey Calvary and Ira Brown. Justin Burrell, a player from St. John's, rounds out the field.
ESPN will broadcast 11 games of this year's tournament, with the semifinals and finals landing on ESPN in primetime.
A Few Good Men are one of the more loaded squads in the contest, but they are hardly favorites. Syracuse, Kansas State and Kentucky all assembled teams from their alumni base. But the Zags will be playing a style that has suited Bulldogs teams for years. Casey Calvary and Austin Daye can provide some size up front, but this will be a guard focused team that will look to take down opponents with the three point shot.
A Few Good Men finished with the most fan votes in the west regional. The games will be played in Los Angeles, on July 9-10. The winners of the regional will advance to the Super 16 in Philadelphia in late July.
