The 2016 NBA Draft will begin on Thursday, June 23, at 5:00 pm PT, on ESPN.
Most years, there isn’t much of a reason for Gonzaga fans to tune in. But this year, the Zags have two names that might potentially be called on the telecast.
Domantas Sabonis decided to forgo his junior and senior years at Gonzaga for a bright future in the NBA. That will be the interesting one to see where he lands, because he has been placed as high as No. 9 and as low as No. 20 in mock drafts over the past few weeks.
Kyle Wiltjer is another mystery. The sharpshooting big man hasn’t been on the radar of most draft boards, but he has been working out relentlessly with a lot of teams. All it takes for Wiltjer is to catch the eye of one GM and he has a spot in the NBA. He is more likely looking at a late-second round (if at all) pick.
