Gonzaga baseball is on the Road to Omaha!

The Bulldogs will play in the Fort Worth regional in Texas.

The Gonzaga men's baseball team is on its way to Texas! Despite faltering in the WCC Conference Final against St. Mary's over the weekend, the Bulldogs did enough to earn an at-large bid on the #RoadToOmaha by winning the WCC regular season title. This will be the baseball program's first NCAA tournament appearance since 2009, and its first ever at-large selection.

The Zags will play in the Forth Worth regional, where they are seeded third. Joining Gonzaga in the Forth Worth regional is host and #1 seed TCU, #2 seed Arizona State whom the Zags will play first on Friday (June 3), and #4 seed Oral Roberts University.

Should the Zags beat Arizona State on Friday (currently scheduled at noon PT), they will play the winner of the TCU-Oral Roberts game, with the losers to face off in an elimination game. The regional stage of the 64-team tournament is a double-elimination format, with the winner of the regional earmarked to play in a super regional best of three series against the winner of the Texas A&M regional.

Friday's opponent, the Arizona State Sun Devils, finished the season 34-21 and are also an at-large team. This will be their fourth consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, with 2012 the only season they missed out on postseason play since 2000 (they were ineligible for postseason play in 2012 due to NCAA sanctions). ASU has won five college world series titles, but none since 1981.
