Well gang, that was quite the ride. The 2015-16 NCAA Tournament ends today, April 4, as the No. 1 North Carolina Tar Heels try to take down the No. 2 Villanova Wildcats.
Try to take down seems to be the key word here. North Carolina has basically throttled everyone on their way to the title game. They've won all of their games by an average of 17 points, and that isn't artificially inflated by a first-round blowout. It is truly full circle for the North Carolina Tar Heels, who were after all the AP Preseason #1 team.
On the flip side of the coin there is Villanova, who has been equally impressive in the NCAA Tournament. Nova has taken down UNC Asheville, Iowa and Miami by healthy margins. They grinded one out against Kansas and then absolutely destroyed Oklahoma in one of the most lop-sided Final Four games ever. As hot as North Carolina is, Villanova is right up there with them.
We have one more game of basketball, and then months of nothing. Let's treasure it and hope that these two teams, who have been dismantling opponents left and right, are able to make a good game out of it.
