Lady Zags center Shelby Cheslek signed with the Phoenix Mercury and will hop on into their training camp, the school announced last week.

The redshirt senior center had a record-breaking career for Gonzaga on her final swan song. She now owns the team record with 213 blocks and pulled down the second-most rebounds in school history with 913.

Cheslek averaged 9.7 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game while playing 28.2 minutes. She was just recently named to the DI-AAA Athletics Director Association Women's Scholar Athlete Team with a 3.62 GPA.

Cheslek will have her work cut out for her to find minutes on the Mercury roster. The Mercury made the Western Conference Finals last season, and feature some player by the name of Brittney Griner on the roster.

She is the sixth Zag in school history to be invited to a WNBA training camp, and the first since Kayla Standish and Katelan Redmon in 2012. Slowly, but surely, the women's program is beginning to make its mark in the professional realm.
