The Gonzaga Bulldogs are active in the recruitment of 2017 small forward target Corey Kispert, Josh Gerson with Scout.com reported on Friday.
Kispert is a 6'6, 210-pound winger who plays for the King's School in Seattle. He is ranked as the No. 77 prospect in the class of 2017 by Scout.com, and is one of the top shooters on the west coast. Kispert said he is being most aggressively pursued by Gonzaga, Notre Dame, Virginia and Utah, although schools like Washington, USC and Stanford are in the mix as well.
The small forward said he thinks that he would be a great fit at Gonzaga and points towards the program's reputation for developing players.
"Gonzaga is really good at player development. If you look at Kyle Wiltjer and Przemek Karnowski, those guys transformed into athletes that they weren't before. Gonzaga has one of the best fan bases and student sections around. They really emphasize a strong family aspect; the players really support each other."
The Zags don't have too many targets for 2017 because they don't have too many scholarships to hand out. However, a lot can change within the next couple of years, and there is always the potential for some early openings from players (cough cough Domas) entering the NBA Draft.
