The Zags begin a crucial four-game road swing that culminates with a visit to the SMU Mustangs and the possibility of a signature win. But first, the one game at a time mentality, and the Zags open it all up with a date against the Loyola Marymount Lions.
The Zags picked up the easy victory earlier this season, winning 85-62. It was the 12th-straight time the Bulldogs have beaten LMU. The Lions haven't beat the Zags since Feb. 18, 2010, back in L.A. Either way, whenever the Zags head out of the cozy confines of Spokane, they are met with a large contingent of vitriol and hostility. We shouldn't' expect the Gersten Pavilion to be any worse.
However, if the Zags put together another 40 minutes like they did against San Francisco, we can put this one in the win column easily. Last Saturday, we saw the best of the Zags that we knew existed in there. Five players scored in double-figures for Gonzaga in the win over San Francisco, the first time that has happened since Mount St. Mary's on Nov. 21.
