Senior Night is here. The final home game of the season is here. Tonight, in Spokane, the crowd will say good-bye to Eric McClellan, Kyle Dranginis and Kyle Wiltjer. And all of it happens against the Saint Mary's Gaels. Basketball is a beautiful thing y'all.
The Zags are coming off an easy win over Pacific, and excluding the loss to SMU, has been playing some of its best ball of the season over the past five games.
Domantas Sabonis has averaged 20.2 points and 11.8 rebounds while shooting 67.3 percent from the floor and 88.2 percent from the line. Silas Melson has opened up as a consistent scoring threat, averaging 10.8 points per game. Dranginis is doing his all-around glue-guy thing, shooting 54.5 percent from the floor and averaging 4.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.
Most importantly, the team has held opponents to just 27.2 percent from beyond the arc, which is extra important considering who is coming into town.
Every game is the next biggest game for the Zags. But when the schedule came out, this one always had a few extra circles around it on the calendar, considering the opponent. Also considering what happened last time these two teams met, the Bulldogs will be looking for blood.
