Gonzaga stays at No. 8 in latest AP poll

Despite a nice win over Arizona, the Zags didn’t go anywhere in the top 25.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs stayed at No. 8 in the latest AP poll, despite defeating the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday.

It looked like the Zags were primed to rise up a bit considering both Xavier and Virginia, who were previously ranked No. 7 and No. 6 respectively, lost last week. But that was pretty much snuffed out by Baylor leap frogging all the way up from No. 9 to No. 4, and UCLA making a huge jump from No. 11 to No. 2.

The Villanova Wildcats moved up to No. 1. Saint Mary’s continued its hold as the No. 12 team in the nation. Arizona fell to No. 20 following the loss to Gonzaga.

Here is the AP top 25.
