Like many Gonzaga games this season, the Zags opener against Pepperdine was the tale of two halves. Pepperdine’s hot shooting kept the Waves in it throughout the first half, and they went into the locker room only trailing 44-37.
Of course, the score was never going to remain like that. Gonzaga’s defense clamped down as its offense revved up, and the Zags coasted to what appeared to be an easy 30-point win.
Lamond Murray finished with a game-high 19 points, but was also harried into six turnovers. Pepperdine turned the ball over 20 times in the game.
Five different Zags scored in double figures, led by Przemek Karnowski and Nigel Williams-Goss with 16 points. Josh Perkins chipped in a career high eight assists, and Zach Collins was a force on the offensive glass with six offensive rebounds.
Post-game interviews from the game can be seen below.
Next up for the Zags is a game on the road against the Pacific Tigers, at 5:00 pm PT, on New Year’s Eve.
