ONE WEEK!
Alright, now that we got the yelling out of the way, we can get to the news portion of the post. The Gonzaga Bulldogs are rolling into town ranked No. 14 in the preseason AP top 25 poll.
It is a slight step down from last year, where the Zags began the season ranked No. 9 (eesh). As we all remember, the Zags spent a mere five actual weeks of the basketball season ranked. Expectations are still high for this squad, but they are also a bit tempered as well.
There are a lot of teams to note here. The Saint Mary’s Gaels are ranked No. 17. There is a strong west coast showing this season, and the two WCC teams are joined by UCLA, Oregon and Arizona. Gonzaga, as it stands now, is the third-highest ranked team on the west coast.
Duke took home most of the first place votes (58), with Kentucky coming in second place. Villanova and Oregon also received votes.
