Angel Nunez reportedly to transfer from Gonzaga

The athletic forward will conclude his college career at a third school...

After spending two seasons at Gonzaga, Angel Nunez will graduate this spring and take his skills elsewhere for his final year of eligibility.  This has been rumored for quite some time and Nunez was on Jeff Goodman's transfer list this morning.

Nunez averaged 6 minutes per game last year and 7 per game the year prior.  He did not log any minutes in 10 games this season, missing a couple with a reported head injury.

While he obviously never was able to work himself into the rotation because of the wealth of talent that built up the Gonzaga frontcourt, Nunez has a lot of attractive features that will make him a solid transfer prospect.  At 6'9'', 200lbs, he is an extremely athletic forward that can be a really solid defensive player.  At Gonzaga, however, he never seemed comfortable on the floor in Mark Few's system and was constantly caught off rotation and out of place.

As we outlined yesterday, the Gonzaga frontcourt is expected to return everyone from their talented group last year so this is not a surprise as Nunez probably would not have seen an increase in minutes.

Best of luck to Angel!
