Hard to believe we are already nearing the close of March. Two Final Four participants will be decided today as the Midwest and West brackets will come to a close.
Today's games should be wildly entertaining so let's get to the schedule and then I will give some thoughts:
Matchup | Time (PT) | Channel | Zach's Pick |
West: No. 2 Arizona vs. No. 1 Wisconsin | 3:09pm | TBS | Arizona |
Midwest: No. 3 Notre Dame vs. No. 1 Kentucky | 5:49pm | TBS | Kentucky |
The good thing about these matchups as most of you should be saying "Yeah, my bracket is looking pretty good!". All four of these teams were very popular choices to make it to this portion of the tournament which should make for some really fun games to watch. When the brackets were revealed, the game I wanted to see most (outside of Gonzaga's games) was Arizona vs. Wisconsin. The rematch of last year's classic game should be fantastic as, behind Kentucky, these are arguably the two hottest teams in the nation.
On the other side, the question is whether or not Notre Dame can test Kentucky. I worry about the Irish depth in this game but there is no doubt they can score the basketball. Jerian Grant won't be able to penetrate as easily as he has this season against the fantastic Wildcats interior so the Irish will likely need to get hot from outside.
I like Arizona over Wisconsin and Kentucky over Notre Dame. What say you?
