Selection Sunday: Gonzaga awarded a two seed in the South region

A season with only two losses secured Gonzaga a two seed in the South region.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs were awarded a No. 2 seed in the 2015 NCAA Tournament in the South region of the field.

Gonzaga, with just two losses on the season, share the South region with top-seeded Duke as the big dogs of the group. The Bulldogs first opponent will be the No. 15 North Dakota State Bison, on Friday in Seattle.

The two seed wasn't much of a surprise following the loss to BYU to finish the regular season. There was a bit of pre-Selection Sunday drama with Notre Dame's run through the ACC Tournament and Iowa State winning their conference crown. But Notre Dame was given a No. 3 seed which pretty much ensured Gonzaga's slot at No. 2.

It is 17th straight NCAA Tournament for the Bulldogs. Assuming they win the first round matchup, the Zags will face either the No. 7 Iowa Hawkeyes or the No. 10 Davidson Wildcats.

More to come later, but go Zags!
