2016 Recuiting: Gonzaga heads abroad for Rui Hachimura

The 2016 recruiting class keeps on getting better and better.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs scored another big win on the recruiting front after Japanese star Rui Hachimura announced his decision to join the Zags, Josh Gershon with Scout.com reported on Friday.

The 6'8 hybrid forward is considered one of the top talents coming out of Japan. His stellar play during the FIBA U17 Championships are what landed his name on the maps of scouts in the college circle. He averaged 22.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in the 2014 tournament.

For the first time in a long while, the Gonzaga Bulldogs might have finally drafted the final piece to the puzzle they always seem to be missing. It has been a long time since the Bulldogs have had a true winger, and with Hachimura joining a class that includes Zach Norvell, Killian Tillie, Jacob Larsen and Zach Collins, this has to be one of the highest rated classes in school history.

Scout.com reported that there is a chance that Hachimura ends up reclassifying and joining Gonzaga in 2017, so this story might not be over yet.
