Top 25 rankings: Gonzaga drops in AP poll

Going 0-0 for the week hurt Gonzaga in the rankings.

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

The Gonzaga Bulldogs dropped to No. 10 in the AP Poll and maintained its No. 12 ranking in the Coaches Poll after going 0-0 last week.

As we all know, the top 25 polls are a fickle beast, and Gonzaga was leapfrogged by its mid-major arch nemesis, the Wichita State Shockers. Other than that, there wasn't much of a shakeup anywhere in the ranks.

There was some interesting movement for upcoming Gonzaga opponents. SMU is nipping right outside the AP top 25 with 105 votes. BYU also received four votes, and it looks like the University of Washington is finally back in the thick of things with the Huskies receiving a lone vote after their victory over Texas.

Gonzaga has a chance to reclaim its rightful spot at No. 9 with two games this week.

Here are the full rankings.
