Kevin Pangos ties Gonzaga record for most career threes

The senior point guard is now one of the most prolific three point shooter in Gonzaga history.

Kevin Pangos made his 288th three pointer on Saturday against Pacific to tie the all time leader in threes made in Gonzaga history.

Blake Stepp has held the record by his lonesome since 2004 after finishing his career with 288 made three pointers. Although Stepp was a fantastic shooter, he was a career 38 percent from behind the arc.

Pangos seemed destined to blow the record out of the water since he first arrived at Gonzaga. In his second collegiate game ever, he tied a school record by making nine three-pointers en route to scoring 33 points against the Washington State Cougars.

It set the stage for the senior guard, who has always been a volume shooter from behind the arc. Pangos has shot 42 percent from three point range over his career, and is shooting his best in his final season - hitting 46.3 percent of his shots from long range.

The all-time record for the WCC won't be matched by Pangos, which is held by Kevin Foster with 431 threes. There is a good chance that he will finish his career in the top three, however. Portland's Jared Stohl sits second all time with 336 and Johnny Dee currently stands third with 306.
