Earlier this week, it was announced that Sam Dower would be taking part in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in hopes of furthering his basketball career and potentially opening NBA scout eyes.
Looks like that is no longer the case.

All is quiet on the DoloDower front. Dower's twitter account, which like all good accounts has some rather cryptic messages lacking all forms of context, tweeted this yesterday.
Imma live and die with the decisions I pick. That's a load off my shoulders...

Of course, that tweet means nothing. Dower could have been talking about the decision to buy Raisin Bran instead of Wheaties.
EDIT: Courtesy of Zagfanatic below, we have the reason.
Just spoke w/ #Gonzaga forward Sam Dower said he hired agent today, agent advised him not to play in Portsmouth Invitational, so he won't

It will be interesting to find out why Dower won't be participating. The first guess is always injury, but there are plenty of potential personal reasons that would make playing basketball at an invitational tournament for four days a bad idea. He also isn't the only player to have dropped from the tournament, with four other players including Xavier Thames no longer participating. Either way, this is a surprise of the bad sorts for Dower and will make it that much harder for him to receive an invitation to the combine or to any team's summer team.
As of now, David Stockton is still scheduled to play. Isaiah Armwood of George Washington will be Sam Dower's replacement.
