The bottom four teams in the standings open up the first round of the WCC Tournament on Thursday.

James Snook-USA TODAY Sports

The first round of the WCC Tournament gets underway on Thursday with No. 8 Pacific taking on No. 9 Santa Clara and No. 7 Portland challenging No. 10 LMU.

It is make or break for all of these teams. The winner between Pacific and Santa Clara will take on Gonzaga in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Portland or LMU will advance to play BYU in the quarterfinals. There are no games on Friday because the New Orleans Arena will be occupied by the women's basketball teams of the WCC.

Pacific and Santa Clara split the two games this season with each team winning at home. Portland handed LMU two losses on the year, winning by 14 points on the road and seven points at home.

Both games can be watched on TV on BYUtv. If you don't get that channel, head over to TheW.tv where the games will be streaming online.
