Some bummer news to report on an otherwise glorious day.  Payton Pritchard, a top-50 point guard out of Oregon, has committed to the Oklahoma Sooners over Gonzaga, Oregon, Villanova, and a host of other contenders.

Pritchard, who the Zags were following very closely over the past several months but the family connection was too much to overcome for Mark Few's staff.  Payton's father went to Oklahoma and following his visit there a few weekends ago, he had nothing but rave reviews so this decision comes as little surprise to those that followed the process closely.

Gonzaga will still likely look to fill the point guard position in 2016.  Josh Perkins is the point guard of the future for this team but it will be important to keep that position backfilled just as they have done with Pangos.  Jesse Wade arrives on campus in 2017 but odds are that he may take a redshirt season to get himself back into basketball shape after his two year mission trip.

We continue to track the staff's movement in the 2016 class and bring updates as we get them.  Until then, keep watching that Sabonis dunk...
