Preseason AP Poll: Gonzaga checks in at No. 13

Kentucky, Arizona, Wisconsin, Duke, and Kansas make up the top five in the recently released AP Top 25

Multitudes of rankings, power rankings, and other lists have been released to try and guess who is the best before any games are played.  While all of these will eventually prove worthless, if there is one worth taking note of, it is the Associated Press poll.  The AP poll is the most 'blessed' poll of the bunch - even though it is certainly flawed in many ways.  That said, as we approach the dawn of a new basketball season, the AP has once again released their rankings and they have tabbed the Bulldogs as the No. 13 team in the nation.

The ranking matches the number that coaches released several weeks earlier but I will be curious to see the bell curve on the Bulldogs ranking across various voters.  From some of the individual polls I have seen so far, I'm guessing the Zags will be a team that is one of the most disagreed upon - which we have become used to.
