It has been relatively easy to find Mark Few over the past year. He has either been on campus, fishing or doing something outdoorsy, or watching prized 2014 prospect Josh Perkins. Few literally traveled all over the country to watch the elite PG and tonight, it paid off as Perkins has committed to Gonzaga. In a recent announcement, the Denver native chose the Zags over UCLA and Minnesota and immediately becomes to heir apparent to Kevin Pangos.
Perkins is undoubtedly one of the highest rated recruits to ever commit to Gonzaga. He had offers from outstanding programs across the country, most notably UCLA, Minnesota, Connecticut, Arizona, and Stanford. He received significant interest from Kentucky, Syracuse, and Kansas as well. He is currently a top-30 prospect on both Scout and Rivals which is similar to where Austin Daye was rated and slightly higher than where Matt Bouldin checked in at when he arrived at Gonzaga.
If you have been on this site at all over the past year, you should be very familiar with Josh Perkins. His fit within the system that Mark Few runs could not be any more perfect. He has court vision that will immediately remind Gonzaga fans of Matt Bouldin and, to be honest, at this point in his career he is a better passer than Matt was. I was lucky enough to go watch Perkins several times this past year and one of my most favorite memories was this gem below:
Josh Perkins honestly passes too well for his teammates. Just threw a no look that hit his teammate in the side of the head.

Unfortunately, I probably will not be able to watch Perkins compete again in high school as he recently transferred to Huntington Prep in West Virginia. A bummer for me, it is a great move for Perkins as he will be surrounded by excellent teammates and will play the best competition every day. While I love a lot of love for Colorado, they only produce a handful of D1 players per year and most of those are lower major type players.
For now, feel free to celebrate in this thread as this is a great day for Gonzaga basketball. Huge kudos to Mark Few, Tommy Lloyd, and the entire Gonzaga staff for reeling in Perkins.
