Gonzaga In The Mix For Tulane Transfer Josh Davis

With Elias Harris graduating, Davis could step right in and help fill the void...

USA TODAY Sports

We've heard rumblings since the start of the offseason that Gonzaga would be active in the immediate play transfer pool and that has come to fruition as the Bulldogs are reportedly in the mix for talented Tulane transfer Josh Davis:

Davis was a force for the Tulane Green Wave last year as he averaged a double-double with 17 points per game and 11 rebounds. It was rumored that he might pursue a career professionally overseas after leaving Tulane but it appears the 6'8'' forward is looking to move to a high-major team that can give him a chance at a deep tournament run.

He is eligible for immediate participation which is huge for the Zags as they are losing Elias Harris to graduation and will likely lose Kelly Olynyk to the NBA. Getting a guy like Davis to shore up the forward position would give this club more depth to go along with Sam Dower and Przemek Karnowski and also allow Lucas Meikle and Ryan Edwards to enjoy a redshirt season.

Davis' 'recruitment' is likely to be very competitive as he's the type of guy that can come in right away and bolster a team as a scorer and rebounder. We'll keep you posted as this story develops.
