2013 Recruiting: Graham Woodward To Visit For 'Kraziness'

With Graham Woodward set to visit in a few weeks, can the Gonzaga staff secure a big time commitment from the Minneapolis point guard?

Kelley L Cox-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

While many of us have switched gears from recruiting coverage to preseason hoopla and hype, it is important to keep in mind that the staff is still very active in regards to filling up the 2013 class. With two commits already in the fold, Gonzaga has been strongly pursuing Edina (MN) point guard Graham Woodward. Woodward exploded over the summer for Minnesota Pump N' Run and has since been courted by numerous D1 schools.

The Zags have been hot on his trail since the July Evaluation Period and their hard work has paid off. We have learned that Woodward will be taking an official visit to Spokane the weekend of October 19th which, conveniently enough, is Gonzaga's version of midnight madness also known as Kraziness In The Kennel. This will be Graham's fourth official as he has been to Washington State, Drake, and Penn State most recently. We recently interviewed Graham and he had this to say about the schools pursuing him:

"I have more than 15 offers, but I am really narrowing that down. I have taken officials to Washington State and Drake. Gonzaga, Washington State, Penn State, Princeton, Drake - maybe a couple others (are standing out at this point)."

Without having first hand knowledge of the relationship between Graham and the staff, it is highly encouraging that he is visiting and that it happens to be during Kraziness In The Kennel. Woodward has some great programs after him but I can't imagine he'll see a better atmosphere than what will be going on during Kraziness.

Graham is hoping to make a decision sometime in October...would be nice if it was made in Spokane!
