Gonzaga 2013 Recruiting Big Board: October 1st, 2012

James Snook-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

It still blows my mind to think how much 2013 recruiting has changed over the past few months. Amazingly, Gonzaga is now in on two solid high school prospects both of which most Zag fans didn't know a thing about until a few weeks ago.

The staff has three schollies to work with (Click here for the latest scholarship chart) for the 2013 class but common thought is that some of those will be banked for 2014 and given to Hart, Stockton, etc. With that said, it seems like the staff is going pretty hard after two 2013 prospects

Point Guards

Until a few months ago, point guard was barely even discussed as a possibility in the 2013 class. That was until Tommy Lloyd sat down to watch Graham Woodward. Since then, the Zags have been all over the Minneapolis prospect.

Gonzaga, WSU, Penn State, Priceton, Drake, etc. Zags are working to set up an official with Graham at this time. Butler is also making a big push. 70%. Graham seems to be an ideal fit for the program.

Shooting Guards

Ghost Town.

Small Forwards

Once a major priority for 2013, the wing position has seemingly moved into 2014 territory...

Gonzaga, Auburn, Kansas State, Mississippi State, UTEP Visited the Zags In September - Haven't heard a thing since then 10%. Typically, commits happen on visits or shortly after so it seems unlikely Griffin will be a Zag.
Craig Brown Ft. Lauderdale, FL

JUCO: Broward CC

Rivals Gonzaga, Rutgers, Auburn Visited Gonzaga On 9/21 - Haven't heard a thing since. See Above.

Power Forwards

Goodluck Okonoboh reclassifying to 2014 suggested that this position would also move into the 2014 priority list but Schilling has caught the eye and the staff is making a late push. Lucas Meikle is projected as a 4/3 and was GU's first commit of '13.

Center

Zags got a sleeper prospect in Ryan Edwards. Should he develop as the staff expects, this position won't be one of need until 2015 or beyond.
