Extra Leg Room Needed: Przemek Karnowski En Route To Spokane

The last piece of the 2012-13 roster is on his way to E. Boone Avenue. Per his Twitter feed, freshman big man Przemek Karnowski is all set to join the rest of the Bulldogs

We discussed it a couple times but over the past few weeks, Przemek has been competing for the senior Polish national team in the qualification round of the 2013 Eurobasket tournament. For someone that has not even taken his first college class yet, to actually make the senior men's team was an incredible accomplishment and obviously something that he could not turn down. While he played sparingly, Karnowski was able to score four points per contest and grab two boards. It goes without saying that he is likely one of the cornerstones of the future of Polish basketball.

He's missed a couple weeks of classes and what not but I'm sure he was on the same distance learning program that Elias Harris was on while he competed nationally. Przemek will have plenty of time to get acquainted with his teammates and he already has a great bond with point guard Kevin Pangos and assistant coach Tommy Lloyd.

To provide a little hype to this story, just today Draft Express put out a 2014 NBA Mock Draft and Przemek Karnowski checked in as the 15th overall selection. Przemek has generated a lot of buzz among the Gonzaga fanbase but to see Draft Express, a top-notch source for NBA Draft news and a great place to learn more about international hoops, rate Przemek so highly is very intriguing.

Welcome to Gonzaga, Przemek!
