Mid-Tuesday News & Notes: 130 Days til Kraziness

Some incredible momentum we have had lately, huh? Gonzaga fans have had an exciting past couple months with the commitments of Lucas Meikle, Przemek Karnowski, and now the transfer of Gerard Coleman. Add in the excitement of the growing 2013, 14, and 15 prospect lists and it almost feels like the excitement before the start of a season. Unfortunately, we haven't even hit the dog days of summer yet!

Here are a few other things to keep your eyes on while we wait for the next big piece of news:

-- The University has released the date for Kraziness in the Kennel. It will be on October 20th and, since I had to do it, we are still 130 days out from Gonzaga basketball. Sad, yes, but at least we have a date to pinpoint! If you are like me, Kraziness in the Kennel is nothing more than a fun tidbit of fanfare (and not the time to begin casting off thoughts on the future of the team) but at least it is a chance to see the Zags back in uniform. Most notably...seeing Przemek will be awesome.

-- Rumor has it that Gonzaga vs. Butler will be an ESPN College Gameday affair in Indianapolis. The game is set for January 19th. Max and yours truly have already verbally committed to being at the game so this may be Slipper's first ever pre-game meet up. Hopefully Zag fans will be sure to represent!

-- Not really a news flash to Gonzaga fans but the Bulldogs will be playing another very tough nonconference schedule. Jeff Goodman on CBS Sports thinks highly of it as he has four Gonzaga games in his top 30 nonconference games of the season. They are:

16) Dec. 28 - Baylor at Gonzaga
24) Jan. 19 - Gonzaga at Butler
28) Dec. 31 - Gonzaga at Oklahoma State
30) Dec. 15 - Kansas State at Gonzaga in Seattle

130 Days??? Ugh.
