Recruiting: Demarquise Johnson to visit Gonzaga

On a day when Gonzaga lost out on one talented wing, word just came across that another will be visiting campus very soon.  Westwind Academy small forward Demarquise "Q" Johnson will reportedly take an official visit to Spokane on the 15th of September.

Johnson was a player the Zags were in on early and thought of as his early fate.  In the middle of summer, however, the Zags and Johnson seemed to be distancing as he named a July top three of Missouri, Washington, and Oregon State.  That list has changed now as only Washington remains from the July favorites.  In addition to Gonzaga, Que will visit the Huskies on September 24th and Washington State on September 2nd.  Missouri, UNLV, and Colorado are still under consideration but I wouldn't expect Q to play his college ball outside the Pacific-Northwest.

Over the summer, Demarquise blossomed into one of the most explosive scorers in the country.  A long and athletic wing at 6'6'', he is the type of athlete that makes a coach drool becuase he already posesses solid offensive abilities.  While he is still working on his deep jumper, Johnson excels in transition and has become one of the most exciting finishers at the rim.

Check out this great highlight video of Johnson in action.
