After hanging out on the outside looking in for the past few weeks, the Gonzaga Bulldogs have finally broken through into the Baseball America Top 25 this week thanks to a series win over the San Diego Toreros. Gonzaga, now 23-10 on the season, has won three consecutive series within the West Coast Conference which, unlike basketball, is quite strong. This past weekend the Bulldogs won two of three games against USD who had previously been ranked 21 in the nation.
The Zags still have over a month to play in the 2009 season but appear to be well on their way to a very successful finish. Gonzaga still has some tough match ups left against Pac-10 foes Arizona, Washington State, and Oregon State as well as four more series within the conference before the conference tournament starts.
