VTF this is TSSF. TSSF meet VTF.
Hi everyone. I am one of the editors and co-founders at SB Nation's BYU blog "Vanquish the Foe." We just wanted to introduce ourselves since we'll be seeing a lot more of each other's schools in the future. I know I speak for most, if not all BYU fans (and certainly the ones with half a hippocampus), in saying we have long admired Gonzaga athletics, and Coach Few's program in particular.
We look forward to having good natured communications and spirited debates between our communities in the future.
Best,
sroufe, Editor @ VTF
Another solid game from KO!
Kelly Olynyk led the Canadian team in scoring with 14 points and pulled down 4 boards in a 89-67 loss to Spain. Despite Canada's poor performance in FIBA, KO's play has been a real bright spot for Zag fans. Sacre pitched in with 8 points and 3 rebounds.
Mark Few likes the addition of BYU
"From a basketball standpoint, they’re going to enhance the profile of the conference," Gonzaga coach Mark Few told the Spokesman-Review.
"… It will be nice to have another top 25-level program in the conference. We were going to fight any situation that brought in a sub-150 RPI level program. That doesn’t help you. [But] this is win-win in that regard."

Nice game from KO in FIBA WC
Kelly Olynyk scored 13 points on 4/5 from the field and pulled a couple key rebounds down the stretch for the Canadian national team, who almost pulled out the upset over the undefeated French team. The final score was 68-63. Canada's next game is tomorrow against New Zealand.
BYU to WCC is now Confirmed
Looks like WCC basketball just got even better....sources indicate BYU will join the WCC in all sports apart from football in 2011/2012.
MWC Connection: BYU leaning to the WCC?
I know you guys love talking about this, but it looks like the WCC is on the verge of getting a little bigger.
Edit by ZB: Great find, opooos. It looks like BYU to the WCC could be more realistic than I originally thought. We already know the WCC is interested.
Pargo returns to Israel
After winning an Israeli Basketball Super League Championship with Hapoel Gilboa Galil Elyon last year Jeremy Pargo has signed with Maccabi Tel-Aviv, a European basketball powerhouse.
Andy Katz tries to talk some sense into BYU
Andy is right on here (as usual). At this point the WAC is no longer a viable option for BYU but the WCC makes a lot of sense. This isn't necessarily news but he puts it quite well.
