The 6'9 Center from Lancaster, Texas was ranked by ESPN as the #31 prospect in the 2015 class, and #44 by 247 Sports. Thomas notified the Aggies of his intention to transfer earlier this month. Thomas has had an uneven start to his collegiate career after injuries at the beginning of the season have limited his playing time.
Still, it's curious that Thomas would elect to jump ship after one semester in College Station. But, the Aggies loss could be Gonzaga's gain. The Bulldogs have shown to be shrewd operators in the transfer market, as Kyle Wiltjer, Nigel Williams-Goss, Johnathan Williams, and Jeremy Jones can attest.
Thomas has good footwork and can finish with either hand in the paint; and, is an excellent rebounder. We'll continue to monitor his situation as it's likely he'll make a decision in the not-too distant future.
