Not sure how to feel about this. I'm glad they reward people from within that put in time with the organization, but I was also hoping they'd bring in a ringer that could help the team with one of their weak areas.
It's nice to get expertise from the outside once in a while. When you're working up from within it's hard to learn anything more than what you know except through new experiences. But if you get someone who's already been through it, the learning curve is a lot shorter.
