Connor Griffin

According to multiple sources including his own Twitter account, 2013 Lake Oswego, OR, Guard Connor Griffin is coming to Gonzaga. This isn't huge news as he is expected to be a walk-on, but by the looks of it, he isn't exactly in the Rem Bakamus mold of walk ons.

A second team selection in the Oregon 6A State Tournament he started for one of Oregon's best teams. He is 6 foot 4 which actually makes him bigger than the our current starting guards. He dunks regularly in games and appears to be pretty athletic. Also, by the looks of the highlight video I saw (which I will include a link to) he is an excellent defender. There is a pretty long stretch in the video where he is just shown blocking shots. All kinds of shots: jump shots, drives to the lane even three pointers. He also seems to accumulate quite a few steals.

This is a welcome bit of news for me since there is really no risk of putting him on the team if he walks on.

Here is the link to his very long highlight reel as promised.
