I was thinking last night as some people were debating about the importance of the NCAA tournament. While I love the Big Dance and think it's the greatest sporting event in all of American sports, I think there is too much emphasis put on the tournament. There are so many variables that go into making a final four. First there is the seeding. Case and point. When Gonzaga was a seven seed and had to go cross country and play a Davidson less than 100 miles from their campus. So it got me to thinking. Would you rather Gonzaga go 29-2 and lose in the sweet 16 or 20-11 and lose in the elite eight?
