In light of the news of our newest addition to the 2014 class with Guard Bryan Alberts joining the fray, it begs to question which should be on all of Zag nations' minds, Where are the BIGS? I'm not going to pretend to say I know that Alberts, Perkins or Melson are great or not, but I do know that none of them greater than 6'3 in stature. The sentiment that is widely shared in baseball, that you can never have enough pitching, I believe goes double for BIGS in college basketball. You can never have enough quality BIGS. With the news that Reid Travis will NOT become a member of Zags Nation, I hope is a wake up call to the Coaching Staff and hopefully will redirect their recruiting efforts for the remainder of the 2014 class and all of the 2015 class in landing athletic bigs. There is no guarantee that Karnowski will be back next year, leaving the Zags with Wiltjer, Meikle, and Edwards (Slow, Slower and Slowest). Yes guard play is important especially come March, but what makes teams like Gonzaga play toe to toe with teams from the BCS conferences are and have been our quality BIGs. (OLYNYK, SACRE, HARRIS, DAYE, TURIAF, MORRISON). I guess it still makes last year still difficult to swallow since we were flushed with depth in that department. Here's to Wiltjer becoming the next Kelly Olynyk!
