Bracketology

Well, the latest edition of Joe Lunardi's Bracketology came out today on ESPN. He has Gonzaga as a 2 seed playing in Salt Lake. This is definitely one of the best case scenarios for us because other than San Jose--where 4 and 5 seeds play-- Salt Lake is the closest Tourney site this year.

I also looked at the "Conversation" with Lunardi where normal people asked him questions over the internet.

Someone asked (not an exact quote) "if Gonzaga beats everyone but Butler for the rest of the year, will they still be a 2 seed?" Joe responded "The Zags would have an outside chance at a No. 1 seed in that scenario and I doubt very much they would slide anywhere below No. 2." (that is a direct quote).

Lunardi was also asked how he justified having GU as a 2 seed "when any one of the top 5-6 teams in the B1G would beat them at a neutral site?" Joe responded by saying that GU would be favored over ANY team in the B1G other than Michigan or Indiana with a pick 'em game between GU and Minnesota.

Unfortunately Lunardi doesn't predict any other WCC teams getting in. However, he was asked about SMC's chances if they win at Gonzaga. he said that SMC getting in would be "Close, but probably not quite."

Finally when asked about his Final Four, he said he was "Sticking with my preseason picks for now: Louisville (title), Florida, Michigan and Gonzaga."

Obviously it is cool that one of ESPN's experts believes in Gonzaga this much. However, as someone who has used his picks several times in March, he is wrong a lot. Here's hoping that he is right about Gonzaga this year!
