I was looking through the prospects that Rivals shows as listing Gonzaga and I went to the 2015 prospects. Expecting to see Kendall Small but was surprised to see another elite 2015 Point Guard. Jarvis Johnson is a 5' 11" 155 lb. Point Guard hailing from Minnesota. It seems like we've been hearing about Minnesota a lot lately. Well as it turns out Johnson plays on the same AAU team as both Reid Travis and Graham Woodward. Well it also turns out that he goes to the same High School as Reid Travis. It seems like the staff is definitely making their presence known in Minnesota.
Back to Jarvis Johnson, however. Based on highlight reels I have seen of him (of which he has a surprising amount for a 2015 guy) he looks to be a very savvy and talented point guard. His passing is as good as it gets as well as his hops. (He can dunk. He's 5' 11" remember?) He has plenty of high major interest. According to Rivals he has a total of 7 offers: Buffalo, Creighton, Iowa State, New Mexico State, Northern Iowa, Toledo and Wyoming.
The fact that he is interested in Gonzaga shows me that Gonzaga is on the minds of many MN basketball players.
Here are some highlights of Jarvis in action.
