Big Shoes to Fill

Elias Harris is expected to have a major year next year. Many think that he will lead Gonzaga's team. The question for recruiting then becomes, who can replace him? It seems that the coaching staff is focusing heavily on the guard positions in the 2013 recruiting class. I however, am left to wonder who will fill Elias Harris' big shoes.

There are a few recruits that could fill Harris' spot on the roster. The first one has been recruited by Gonzaga for a while, yet he doesn't seem to be a high priority target. Goodluck Okonoboh is a 6' 9" Center from the Tilton School and BABC in Massachusetts. He was the backup to superstar Nerlens Noel. Noel played center for BABC so it seems that Goodluck probably got some time as power forward. He is mainly a threat as a rebounder and shot-blocker although he can certainly score. Should Gonzaga go hard for this defensive behemoth?

The next recruit recently broke onto the Gonzaga scene. It was reported recently that Jordan Bell of Long Beach Poly in California had an offer from GU. He too is a great shot blocker, averaging about 5 per game. He also averages a fair 8 points per game on a very good High School team. He is very athletic and is a true power forward. Should Gonzaga try to get this SoCal Swat-machine?

The final option is Luke Meikle, the first commit from 2013. I don't need to break down his game but from clips he seems like more of an offensive player. Many posters have expressed that he should redshirt his freshman year. Is this local talent ready to fill Harris' spot?

The choice is yours. What do you think about 2013 Forward Recruiting?
