Here are two recruits that I find very intriguing for the 2013 recruiting class. I obtained all of my information from Scout.com and Maxpreps.com.
Myers is a Power Forward out of Douglas High School in Minden, Nevada. According to Scout he lists Gonzaga as his third choice but the two above us (Boston College and Cal) have both offered him. It seems like a pretty good sign that he places us above 4 schools that have offered him. Scout lists him as the 26th best power forward in the nation for his class. He put up some very impressive stats. He averaged 16.1 Points Per Game and his best scoring performance was 29 points. He averaged 2.2 Blocks Per Game and his best game for blacks was 7 in one game. he averaged 5.2 rebounds per game and his best performance there were two times grabbing 12 boards. Gonzaga has not offered him but I hope they do considering Harris will graduate after this year.
Mitchell is a Point Guard/Shooting Guard out of Muir High School in Pasadena, California. According to Scout he lists Gonzaga as his 2nd choice behind Colorado but that is likely because Colorado has offered him. Scout has him as a 3 star recruit. He put up some pretty nice stats this season. He averaged 3 Assists Per Game (Best Performance was 7), 4.1 Rebounds Per Game (Best Performance was 8), and 1.5 Steals Per Game (best Performance was 5.) He was a very good scorer, putting up 14.3 Points Per Game including one game where he dropped 37 points on the opposing team. Again, Gonzaga has not offered him but he looks like he could be a good player here at GU.
